Last weekend I saw Chris Cubeta & The Liar’s Club, who is not only a hometown band, but also a longtime favorite of mine. They had a decent turnout at Bowery Ballroom, one of the larger venues they headline about twice a year. Opening for them was another personal favorite, April Smith & The Great Picture Show. When on stage, every male in the room had his eyes glued on April while every female in the room had her eyes set on April’s equally attractive and talented band-mates.
Later, a good friend of mine ended her night at roughly 5am in bed with 4 slices of pizza while on the phone with her cable company ordering every single on-demand TV channel possible. She woke up the next day with 3 1/2 slices of pizza in one hand, cell phone in the other, and entirely too many choices of free movies to squeeze into one hangover-day.
